ABOUT
In 1975, the A. Chan Group of Companies expanded and diversified their holdings to include a steel galvanizing plant in Mandaue, Cebu. It was called Sugarsteel Industries, Inc. of which Antonio Chan was founder and president.
The A. Chan Group of Companies decided to construct a larger factory in Perellos, Carcar in 1995 and the company struck a deal with Nagaoka Iron Works of Japan to provide machinery and equipment for the galvanizing plant with an annual capacity of 9,000 metric tonnes to 30,000 metric tonnes of corrugated and plain galvanized sheets ranging from 0.2 mm to 1.6 mm in thickness and 900 mm to 1220 mm in width. The company was named after its founder: A.C. Steel Industries, Inc.
In September of 2014, A.C. Steel Industries, Inc. transferred to Pangdan, Naga of Cebu and began production and development of downstream steel products.
